Just over a week ago, the Government announced that estate agents and letting agents could re-open for business. This decision was made on the basis that our industry is the heel stone that supports so many other sectors such as construction, manufacturing, retail, and financial services.
However, the pandemic continues to impact lives locally and across the UK. Our team at Keats have made the decision to offer a range of tailored services, but we will not re-open our office to the public for around four weeks. This allows us time to prepare carefully controlled safety measures.
At the current time we will operate as follows:
Keats sales and lettings teams continue to function within the advice set out in the Government guidance, with safety measures in place to protect our staff who are now working from our Haslemere office. Currently the doors to our office remain locked and no one other than our staff will enter the premises. All desks, equipment, keys, door handles etc are cleaned twice each day.
Rita Tinney, Keats Sales and Lettings Director commented: “We will not open the office to the public or contractors until we are confident that the best possible safety measures are in place. Within the next four weeks the desks will be fitted with protective screens and floor markings will be installed to ensure social distancing of no less than 2 meters.
“No more than three members of our staff will be in the office at any one time and all will observe a policy of social distancing. Our property management, accounts and administration teams continue to work from home and are available by email.”
Viewings and valuations will be undertaken on vacant properties only and with personal safety measures in place. Our team will arrange virtual tour viewings as an initial introduction to a property to reduce the number of physical viewings.
All viewers will be required to bring and wear disposable gloves and for certain properties which are adjacent to homes with possible vulnerable persons, such as retirement flats, viewers and our team will wear face masks.
Rita Tinney added: “Periodic property visits on managed rental properties will not resume until at least September. We have chosen this timeframe to coincide with an anticipated point in the future when most tenants will have hopefully returned to work and schools will be fully re-open.
“On behalf of myself, my co-Director and the sales and lettings teams, I thank you for the support you have shown since 23rd March and hope for your patience just a little longer as we all work together to tackle Covid-19 and keep our community safe.”
Office opening: 10am - 5pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 2pm on Saturdays until further notice.
